The top of the range, and a wine with history in its name. "Rujaq Andalusí" nods to Al-Andalus — this is Málaga's heritage in a glass. Pure Moscatel de Alejandría from the slate hillsides of the Axarquía, hand-harvested and sun-dried on paseros until the grapes are packed with sugar, then pressed in the traditional capacha press for a slow, slow fermentation.
Then 20 years in American oak casks. Deep amber with iodine-tinged edges, a nose of candied fruit and spice, and a palate that's rich, persistent and beautifully balanced. This is a sipping wine — the kind you pour a small glass of and let unfold.
Serve with dark chocolate, dried fruit and nuts, or on its own as the centrepiece of the evening.
