Refund policy

Returns & Refunds

At The Wine Hustle, every bottle is hand-picked and packed with care. But we know things can occasionally go wrong — so here's exactly where you stand.

Changed your mind? You have 14 days.

Under EU and Dutch consumer law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on online orders. If you change your mind, you can return your order within 14 days of receiving it — no reason needed.

To be eligible:

  • Bottles must be unopened, undamaged and in their original condition.
  • You let us know within 14 days of delivery (a quick email is enough).
  • You then return the wine within 14 days of telling us.

Who pays for what: We refund the full price of the wine plus the original standard delivery cost. The return shipping is paid by you. Please pack the bottles well — you're responsible for them until they reach us safely, so we recommend a tracked service.

We'll process your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned wine (or proof that you've sent it back), to your original payment method.

Faulty or corked wine? We've got you — 30 days.

Wine is a natural product, and once in a while a bottle can be flawed — corked (TCA), oxidised, or otherwise not as it should be. If that happens, we'll make it right.

If you believe a bottle is faulty, contact us within 30 days of delivery. Here's how it works:

For a corked or faulty bottle:

  • Put the cork back in and keep the bottle with at least 3/4 of the wine remaining — we need enough left to assess what went wrong (a near-empty bottle can't be evaluated).
  • We'll arrange the return and cover the return shipping.
  • Once we receive the bottle, we assess it and resolve within 7 days — your choice of a replacement or a full refund.

For a bottle broken or damaged in transit:

  • Don't send it back — instead, email us a photo of the broken bottle and the packaging as soon as you notice.
  • We'll sort a replacement or refund within 72 hours.

Please note

  • These faulty-bottle terms are for genuinely flawed wine — not for a wine you simply didn't enjoy. Taste is personal, and a wine not being to your liking isn't a fault. (That said — talk to us. We're wine people, and we want you happy.)
  • This policy covers our wines and olive oil bought through our online shop.
  • None of the above affects your statutory rights under Dutch and EU consumer law.

How to reach us

To start a return or report a faulty bottle, email us at thewinehustle.nl@gmail.com with your order number and, where relevant, a photo. We'll take it from there.
