Forget what you think you know about sweet Málaga wine. Maestro isn't that thick, syrupy thing someone once poured you for dessert. It's the opposite: pale, fresh, light on its feet. Young Moscatel de Alejandría from the slate slopes of the Axarquía, where the vines cling to near-vertical hillsides that have to be picked by hand.
Sweet, yes — but with backbone. Ripe fruit on the nose, a tropical edge, a hint of flowers. This is the easiest way into Málaga's sweet wines, and proof that this corner of Spain has far more to say than it's given credit for.
Serve cold, with hard cheese, fruit, or on its own when the sun's out.

What's "Maestro"? A traditional Málaga style where grape must is fortified with wine alcohol before fermentation, so the wine keeps its natural sweetness and freshness without long ageing.
