Jota de To Viuda Rica · Bodegas Díez Gómez
The jewel of the cellar — old vines, French oak, and a bottle built to celebrate. "Viuda Rica" (the rich widow) is Díez Gómez's flagship red: a selection from the oldest family vines, aged in French oak and bottled in a beautiful Burgundy-style bottle inspired by festivity, friendship and the joy of the Jota.
100% Tinta de Toro from old-vine, ungrafted plots (the family works parcels of 40, 80 and over 140 years old). Aged a minimum of 12 months in French (80%) and American (20%) oak, medium toast. Deep cherry-red with garnet edges. The nose layers black fruit, blueberry and dried plum over well-integrated oak — cocoa, coffee, toast — while keeping a surprising freshness. Structured, ripe and long: Toro at its most refined.
Serve at 16–17°C, decanted. A wine for the big occasion — roast and braised meats, game, strong cheeses, long dinners.
